VOSB Status That Opens Doors to Opportunity
A VOSB is a small business that is at least 51% owned, controlled, and managed by one or more U.S. military veterans. This designation allows veteran-owned businesses to access veteran-focused contracting opportunities, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
To compete for VOSB-specific opportunities, the business must be properly certified and correctly listed in SAM.gov so contracting officers can verify veteran ownership.
VOSB: Veteran-owned business (no disability requirement)
SDVOSB: Veteran-owned business where the owner has a service-connected disability, which provides additional priority and set-aside opportunities
VOSB can be combined with programs such as GSA Schedules, small business set-asides, HUBZone, or WOSB to further expand opportunities.
